Does anybody know what has happened to the Wonderwall this summer. I went past on Tuesday and it looked so sad as it hasn't been replanted this year. I am not criticising as I know it would have taken some effort and needs volunteers. But I just don't remember seeing a call for help in Spring and it does look desperately sad given the large dedication sign. I also recognise that its is pretty inaccessible for many people who might volunteer.

Wonderwall dedicated to the memory of Paul Hazlehurst on 18:38 - Jul 9 with 817 views
“ I’d like to query the status of the Sandy Lane “Wonderwall” (Paul Hazelhurst memorial) Club Response: It is good feedback and pretty fair to say that this area (a memorial to former director Paul Hazelhurst) has fallen into a pretty poor state over recent years. This will now be picked up as a joint project between the Club and RAFC Community Trust and we’ll look to restore it to its former glory asap.”
Roy Down used to be involved in sorting it out but I haven't seen him around for ages, hope he is OK.... The top of the wall is looking a bit dodgy, some of the capstones at the top look loose and others have gone missing. It could be a superb project for volunteers to get a grip on but I'm not sure its safe to work there as it stands at the moment...It probably needs some sort of scaffolding safety rail if amateurs are going to get involved with it given that some of the stones need re-cementing....

I’m sure with the Community Trust involved they would ensure all that sort of thing would be addressed. Presumably issues like that would have been raised at the CAB meeting too.
