When James has his night time TV show (on ITV I think it was) he was an advocate for animals and, if I remember correctly had a couple of dogs.
James was there at a dogs home while they put a dog to sleep for 1 reason or another and I cried along with James that night as he stroked the dog in its last few seconds.
Loved the guy, and sad for his wife of only a few years.

I quite liked him on Talk Radio UK (now Talk Sport) and used to sometimes watch Whale On when I had insomnia when back home unemployed after university. | | | |
