Oxford tonight 19:48 - Aug 12 with 685 views | durham_exile | Just had a lovely day across in the Lake District at Keswick. Settling down to watch on Sky Sports + I fancy us to spring a surprise tonight. Maybe 2-1 to the U's Up the U's

Well he put himself about a bit and clearly unsettled Oxford when he came on, so not sure what else is expected of him. I didn’t see what sparked the incident at the end, but I’ve read he might have been late into a tackle, but the aggression came from the Oxford player’s reaction so maybe we should give him a break? Despite the defeat we played well, particularly second half when Samson and Lisbie came on, followed by Edwards and the excellent Thorn. Very good runouts too for Powell and Harvey. We deserved a goal (or two) on the night, but no disgrace against a Championship side, and the support was impressive too.

Oxford tonight on 08:49 - Aug 13 with 342 views | noah4x4 | A decent performance against a competent Championship team that defended deep whilst we attacked at pedestrian pace. We were never going to score by walking the ball into the net after overly intricate passing. We needed to shoot on sight (as they did) and get down the flanks at pace, which Thorn and Edwards ultimately did. Oxford were similarly guilty of over complicating attacks, but retained the ball better and were prepared to test Macey rather than add an unnecessary pass. A gate under 4,000 at a Championship venue sums up this competition. Frankly few care, and no apparent injuries is perhaps the best outcome. Crazy journey home. M25 closed and (CUSA Coach) driver seemingly twice lost his way. We ended up heading north on the A1 and turned onto the M11 by Duxford Airfield, finally home at 01:15.

Good summary of the match. I think we probably deserved to take it to a shoot out, but as you say we got stuck in the final action in and around the box. I know some disagree, but I think Tovide lacks maturity and discipline. I was hoping for a lot more when he came on, but he looked the least effective of the substitutes.

We couldn't hear the Oxford supporters even at the ground! It was my first visit to the Kassam, and I'd read elsewhere that missing the 4th stand made it difficult to generate any atmosphere, but I didn't find that at all, in fact the acoustics for the away section were pretty good.

Oxford tonight on 10:15 - Aug 13 with 306 views | RSCOSWORTH | We haven't created a great deal in our last seven or eight matches which is concerning. Pretty much coincides with when Taylor went off against Newport.
