There has been a lot of talk about our strikers inability to score. I grew up watching Saints in the 80’s and when it came to the opposition Ian Rush had to be the biggest conman of them all.
We’re talking about someone who is regarded as one of Liverpools finest. At the time he had Dalglish, McDermott etc… pumping balls in to him.
Now my point is, a striker is only as good as the playmaker around him.
Take that away then a striker is crap.

Good point Pat Though I think Mara is a bad example.
I guess you get strikers who just have that ability and communication with the pliayers around them.
Isn’t that the case for most strikers who play daily with the same creators.
Of course there are exceptions when they are there at the right time constantly. That’s when you win the golden boot.
My point from this thread was , are our strikers that bad. Will they with better service now (hopefully) come good |
Nothing wrong with the service the strikers had against Swansea but they all missed absolute sitters.
Both AA & CA need 5 chances to score one, that is just not good enough at any level.
It's not down to bad luck it's just a lack of ability & instinct in front of goal.
Watching AA is like watching a school boy playing, he's got no vision of what's going on around him, he just shoots on sight even when he could pass to others in better position. | | | |
