Question for goalkeepers 08:56 - Sep 14 with 889 viewsFDC

There's a few on here I believe.

Is coming for crosses something you can work on and train in to your game, or is it more of a dispositional, psychological thing, I've no idea?

To be fair one of the reasons I was always an average goalkeeper. While I back myself as a shot stopper - coming for crosses from corners is tough and you can only train so much about pressure from opposition

However its unacceptable not to train against regular crosses as you have time to anticipate, space to.come for it and judge whether its right decision.

I think we know which friend you are asking for :)

Poll: Would you rather win league cup or survive?

I was very similar. Pretty good at all other aspects but it was a hard thing to judge. I would mostly punch them but I did come out for them. I’m not sure after 20+ years of being a goalkeeper it’s something he can be taught and the worst thing would be to try and force it and have that split second where he has to think about it.

Played a lot of futsal when I lived abroad and that’s ideal. No crosses and just loads of shots from close range.
