Norwich away…train? 21:32 - Sep 14 with 2064 viewsHammersmithR

I know it’s a good while off. Seems there’s engineering works that weekend. Thought this usually happened at Christmas? Anyone know why they’re doing this on this particular weekend. Proper pain!

Welcome to our world mate.Bus replacement between Colchester and Ipswich is happening for a few weekends in September. It added an extra 30-40 minutes to an already long journey this weekend going to Wrexham. And it’s on again next weekend too.I can normally go via Cambridge to avoid it all but there’s a bus replacement service between Cambridge and Royston too.

I just looked and it’s a bus replacement service between Ipswich and Norwich, which takes 1 hour 30 minutes instead of 30 minutes by train.Maybe it might be better for everyone to go via Cambridge or Peterborough instead.

If only it was just at Christmas!

Last year we had three consectutive months of bus replacement between Ipswich & Liverpool Street! Apart from the "normal" railtrack activity the building of the new Chelmsford Parkway station has affected us.

4.5 hours each way from Sussex but cheap-ish at £47 (with a Network railcard). Just under 3 hours from Liverpool St via a stop in Cambridge. Fun.

I’ve lost track- is this confirmed as a 3pm?

Peterborough looks fine on the sites I'm looking at, where you seeing this? Do not want to end up on a bus under any circs.
