Red Pitch— Anyone Seen This Play? 20:04 - Sep 24 with 1712 viewsDylanP

So Red Pitch is a play about three lads who are trying to break into football and try-out for QPR. There must’ve been a thread on this at some point but I clearly missed it, because the play was in the West End. Anyhow, it’s coming to America and its US debut is at a small theater near where I live. There is even a Q&A with the playwrite. I’m going this weekend and will definitely be wearing a QPR shirt. I’m thinking Red/Black for the Q&A and classic for the play itself.

Has anyone seen it yet?

I saw it during its initial run at Soho Place a year or two ago.

We really enjoyed it. The three actors were superb and brought a few kids from the audience onstage for a kickabout before the play started.

It was good to see it was a different crowd from what you often see at the west end- much more diverse and young people with experiences of the issues at the heart of the play.

Really well done and glad it has made the move to the US. I hope it is successful there.

Playing now in Olney, Maryland USA. Good write up in the Washington Post.

If QPR get a mention here someone’s going to let me know.

So many British coaches I play against Man U and not from there. They always apologize:

Example, where you from. Near Heathrow, which team, Man U.

I saw it at the Bush Theatre with my daughter and we both loved it. Great writing, brilliant performances and a clever set. American audiences might need a while to tap into the broad London street accents or maybe they’ll adjust accordingly. Highly recommended!

Nice. Thanks for the feedback. I’m glad those who have seen it give it high marks. I’m a bit biased but anything that mentions QPR gets high marks right away.
