We are a small densely populated island in a period of protracted economic downturn and cannot watch it get slowly concreted over to make way for the world's waifs and strays who often live parallel lives in parallel ghettos, or the nicer sounding "communities" that MPs like to call them.
People are rightly sick of seeing their once high trust society turn into a Third World flophouse with all the social problems that causes. It's that simple really. folk have had enough of the mass influx.
Maybe if spineless politicians had weeded out the genuine asylum seekers/refugees and not lazily flung the doors of the kingdom open to all and sundry for 25 years Brits would have more empathy.
