PHEV Emissions Under Estimated on 09:31 - Oct 16 with 341 views | Dr_Winston | Doesn't surprise me. PHEV's are heavier than the other hybrid types so will need more power to push them when not on battery power. I am considering hybrid for my next car but won't be going for one of those.

PHEV Emissions Under Estimated on 20:07 - Oct 16 with 234 views | JACKMANANDBOY | I have a mild hybrid, I drove for an hour today at an average of 28mph, petrol consumption averaged 47 mpg with 8 mpg attributed to to the hybrid system. I have the dashboard display set to capture all the data related to mpg and ' game ' it a bit by coasting downhill and allowing the car to manage it's own braking etc

I've got a smallish petrol SUV which I can get up to 42mpg on a longer trip, around 35-36mpg if I'm mostly city driving. An average of 47mpg overall would suit me down to the ground and save me a few bob. [Post edited 16 Oct 20:27]

Worth doing the research, test driving and being prepared to push for a deal. I usually buy nearly new, but a new one was a better deal with £10K off the list price of £37K. A new model was just being released and the old model needed to cleared out of stock.
