Our country is Unbelievable on 20:27 - Oct 17 by Dr_Winston | Not sure about that. English Hoolies have a bit more of a reputation than Israeli ones. Even the Guardian reported that most issues with Maccabi fans in Amsterdam came from them being targeted. Bottom line is that this ban would not be happening if Villa weren't playing an Israeli side and the local plod weren't terrified of the prospect of dealing with half of their local population wanting blood. |
And thats why they should be banned, the local plod and Innocent fans would ultimately feel the backlash. Common sense should prevail. And btw the tel aviv fans did quite a bit of targeting, they are no angels.

Our country is Unbelievable on 20:32 - Oct 17 by KeithHaynes | First time I’ve heard a one off incident has been taken so seriously. There’s loads every time the championship league is played. Nobody banned yet. I’m assuming without full confirmation otherwise this has a lot more to do with politics than football. In fact anyone who believes it’s about their behaviour in Amsterdam alone is nuts. I can understand the authorities banning them because of the amount of disorder which would take place from a community perspective. Fear of severe injury or loss of life outside of the ground. But of course that’s not football related. That’s a social concern brought about by the local politician, weekend warriors and purveyors of BS regardless of the side they are on. Again not football related. As they can’t blame football then some would say it’s an anti semetic ban, others then will use the genocide card which confirms all along it’s nothing to do with football on both fronts. You see it’s nothing to do with football. And the fact responses on here bar the one off scrap in Amsterdam prove it. This goes deeper, so let’s not pretend it doesn’t. And it isn’t footballs problem. |
Eintracht fans banned from Napoli, Legia fans banned from Villa Park, Ajax fans banned from Marseille, Turkish authorities not allowing Besitikas to play Maccabi in Turkey. This isn't the only time fans have been banned in recent seasons and of course back in the day Leeds were banned for 4 years (cut to 2 on appeal), was Liverpool banned ?, English teams as a whole was banned for a few years if I recall correctly. I agree with you that it's not just football, it's the whole Muslim/Jewish thing and politics as well as football, I say as well as football because their ultras could merit a ban on their own.

Our country is Unbelievable on 01:54 - Oct 18 with 562 views | Robbie | Had to take a trip into Swansea City Centre yesterday , out of a necessary errand but will not go back if I can avoid doing , McDonalds was a Third World area . Open to any decent incomer who wants to add to the area , but it was an eyeopener . Saddest part was no skull caps on display on Oxford Street shopping area . We tolerate a lot , smoking weed near Swansea Market entrance to Mosques around us . Jews not allowed to walk safely on British Streets these days . I always thought the UK was a harmonious and multiculutural society , all welcome . Think Starmer said that mind .

Let's call it as it is its naff to do with football , Birmingham police dont want a couple of thousand people from Israel on their patch what does that say about them? The UK"s second biggest city. Saying that if cars are getting raped in broad day light while they sit in their vans eating chips looking the other way what hope have they got.

Our country is Unbelievable on 08:33 - Oct 18 with 435 views | trampie | Im just remembering Legia Warsaw fans were banned by the Welsh, they were banned from Caernarfon ground when they played each other (haven't checked but it might have been last season). Legia was also done by the authorities after racist chanting in both legs against TNS some years ago. [Post edited 18 Oct 8:48]

Our country is Unbelievable on 09:37 - Oct 18 with 391 views | JACKMANANDBOY | A little research will reveal that yesterday the Mayor of Birmingham, the DCMS and the Government have stated the decision to ban away fans was because they can not guarantee their safety. As an example a local Islamic Scholar has posted video calling for the Maccabi Tel Aviv fans to be shown no mercy. So we have reached a point where people's liberty is being determined by others who wish them harm, it's rather ironic that those who vociferously defend the right for people to go on demonstrations and voice contentious views seem quite happy to see people restricted from going about their lawful business in this country by attending a football match. Some see nothing wrong with distorting our freedom and liberties, nothing wrong with conflating British citizens with events thousands of miles away over which those citizens have no influence. As the Islamic scholar says, let's show them no mercy? [Post edited 18 Oct 9:38]

Could they send more police in (and other associated services) from other areas of England ? I can't see why not, but who is going to pay for it ? - the taxpayer no doubt to allow mainly foreign nationals to watch a game in this country, is that a good way to spend taxpayers money. They could send the army in but that would not be a good look.
