It could easily have been 10-0 that day. Pity it wasn't.

We were 3rd in the Premier League and had conceded fewer goals than any other team in either the Premier or Football Leagues. Not only did we score a lot of goals; we didn't concede them either. What a great defence we had: Forster, Clyne, Alderweireld, Fonte, Bertrand.

What a great afternoon that was.
Koeman and some great players - no comparison to today's sorry state of affairs.

Proper top flight manager and players in every position all of which would have been able to hold their place in any other Premiership team at the time.

Never mind, I’m sure the happy clappers would rather have fans zones the Dell Pub and Level One.

Proper shirts as well with stripes front and back.

As an aside. Does anyone else think that our first goal was highly suspicious ? Were betting companies sponsoring clubs then ? I can’t remember.

Poll: Is the decline of Southampton F C reversible?
