My beautiful wife Suzy 01:08 - Jul 28 with 9673 views

Dear all,

It's not easy to say this so soon after penning my article about Suzy's cancer and QPR's last day of the season, but on Thursday I lost my wife.

There's nothing else to say, other than she was a beautiful person both inside and outside. No-one had a nasty word to say about her. She was truly incredible, and I was very lucky.

To all of you who have supported me in this crap: Thank you for your support. I'll still need you again come when the season starts to boost me up.

My wife died several years ago. People say all sorts of things to you, you'll grin and bear it, they mean well. The meaningless words and phrases. Hardest to take were those people you thought cared who didn't get in touch - and then did, months later, bleating 'I didn't know what to say' and I realised it was my job to make 'em feel better.
Look after yourself. Seriously - put yourself first. It's not selfish, it's sensible. Be angry, why not? I know I was, and it was cancer that took my wife too.
Time heals nothing. The wound scars over, and people notice it less, but you live with it everyday.
