Aye, ridiculous. It was either that or pay the £3.25 million he is due under the terms of his early release. What lunatic draws up these 'agreements' ?

No bloody wonder some clubs are suffering.

its one of the issues of the Bosman ruling. An out of contract player will expect some value of a transfer fee passed on to his wages, and because Joe Cole wasn't costing Liverpool any fee, he asked for the earth and was given it.

Heard that our pals down the road are after former Scunthorpe and Swansea defender Izzy Iriekpen.

Tangled up in blue.

I would love to know how they could afford that if they succeed.

EDIT TO ADD: Probably with the offer of a coaching role, I would imagine.

Good grief. He hasn't played since 2010 and that was in Chicago. He has got some coaching badges though..............

I'd take him in a flash, we need some experience at the back and a few new faces, i trust that Coleman will be working on defensive targets as we speak.

A quick look at his Wiki page suggests he is struggling to find a club... either due to budgets or fading ability.

Seems he likes coaching, hence why I edited my previous post.

He'd certainly tick the experienced box, at any rate.

I can't believe City still have their training ground so accessible. This isn't the first time pictures have been taken of incidents at training . Doesn't happen at any other club.

Think it's because there's a public footpath that runs right by it - City have tried to construct fences and restrict access but the council's not been helpful. Won't change until City's new purpose-built facilities are ready to move into.

On another note, Mark McChrystal has signed a short-term deal with Bristol Rovers.

At least Balotelli is doing his best to hide by driving to training in his camouflage car!

Has Ryan Edwards gone back yet?

Thought his loan deal was due to end after the Rotherham deal but haven't seen any news yet. Maybe we are in negotiations to extend it?

Gornell's deal is until after Saturday.

Edwards was tweeting his farewells on Tuesday night.

Izale McLeod - re-signed with MK Dongs on 18 month contract after leaving Portsmouth by mutual consent, and Ex-Morecambe and Rotherham left back Laurence Wilson signed with Accrington Stanley to the end of the season.

Wonder if the Wilson signing has anything to do with the possibility of Winnard leaving in this transfer window?
