That's my question too - thought it's in Nov at some point? But they'll probably just keep defferring it until football season's over.

Remy on 12:34 - Nov 10 with 3461 views | INFIRMARY | Arsenal will almost certain come in for him January , off load him 18 - 20 mil and then go get the players that push us over the line and then some to have a good squad for prem season !

Remy on 12:40 - Nov 10 with 3439 views | Nov77 | Almost certainly a release clause in his contract at a set amount of about £5m.
| |
Remy on 12:51 - Nov 10 with 3392 views | Jeff | My understanding is that there is a fee agreed with Newcastle for a further £6m on top of his £2m loan agreement, meaning that we will recoup what we paid for him and not a penny more...

Yes of course John but I what I meant was do we know when the verdict is likely to be out as to whether Remy's case will actually end up in the courts or just be dismissed.

And me. Take into account his salary last year, what contribution, if any, we are making this year and his resale value it is a very poor deal .
Remy on 16:35 - Nov 10 with 3058 views | edwardtheconfessor | If we have agreed to let Remy go for 2million loan fee plus the 6million to make the 8 we paid...i can definately feel that sinking feel in the post(1st class) i got after my two divorces when the wives got to live and keep the house's.......to quote the great man himself..."EVER GET THE FEELING YOUR'VE BEEN CHEATED"..

So why is Remy always saying that he is keeping his options open.

Maybe because if other clubs know that there's essentially an agreed price of £8 million between QPR and Newcastle then they can also get him for that? Makes no difference to us who we sell him to if the bar has already been set at £8 million.
Remy on 20:03 - Nov 10 with 2756 views | Juzzie | So if Man Utd/Chelsea/Arsenal all offer £12m-£15m we won't sell him for that? We owe Newcastle nothing. He is still our player, under contract, and I don't see any reason why we would be under any obligation to sell to Newcastle for just £8m. The way I see it, the £8m figure is the MINIMUM amount, the amount that triggers it all. I don't see anything that says it has to be that amount and that amount only.

at the risk of asking a fairly silly question, if £8m triggers the clause, why on earth would you bid even a penny more? i don't claim to be in the know, i'm not stating facts or anything like that, but from what i've been told, there is a deal in place with Newcastle for a £6m fee at the end of the season. I don't know the specifics about whether the original clause had expired or anything like that, i'm not claiming to have seen the paperwork, or be mates with Remy's sister's husbands uncle or anything, i just know that if Newcastle want him, he's pretty much theirs...

Remy on 22:00 - Nov 10 with 2604 views | kron1664 | Why didnt we sell Remy straight away?, i reckon they kept our options open and good job to. If Kinnear was arranging the deal i'm sure we have got the best end of it.
Remy on 23:03 - Nov 10 with 2516 views | daveB | reason he didn't get sold n the summer was the rape case, he'd have been gone for 8 million had that not come out. As it is he'll go for more next summer if he gets cleared and it won't be to newcastle either

maybe because no one would want to buy a guy on a rape charge! my guess is that it is £6 mill plus £2 mill for loan if not why doesnt harry tony or someone come out and say remy is still a QPR player theres no fee agreed and that his future will be decided at the end of the season all im hearing is silence which makes me think they know they are losing a star for peanuts

Isn't a release clause like a reserve at an auction? Thus you may get more than the release clause because afterall it isn't an automatic sale clause otherwise they'd call it that so you must be able to weigh the options as the seller just as much as the player can refuse to go. Football agent bollôcks just hope if he does go and doesn't get sent to jail that we get market value for a change.

say southampton offer 12 mill newcastle £8 mill and arsenal £8 mill remy would choose arsenal and theres nowt we could do about it if he has an £8 mill release only good thing would be we still get the £2 mill off newcastle for the season loan so total would be £10 mill i hope
