And just how will the fascist George Galloway differentiate between Jews and non Jews?

Maybe make them wear a yellow star or something similar eh?

Horrible excuse of a man!

bosh 67 I wish all the posts here were as sensible as yours. The whole Israeli thing is so sad. When I was a kid the kibutz movement was relatively left wing and had enormous support worlwide. Sadly the crazier Zionist elements have gained the upper hand and now look as if they are determined to eliminate all Arab presence from a country that was mainly inhabited by Arabs. This would not be happening if they had no backing from the US. the so called "Leader of the Free World". What a joke! I worry about a possible backlash against jewish people there is enough hate around already.

At my age I should not be doing this!

i dont think its a matter of losing these young muslim men and women in and around the east end.

we have lost them.

youthful rebellion?, you should see some of that youthful high jinks mannifest itself in east ham, upton park, plaistow and forest gate through intimidation, violence, racial hatred to hindu's, sihks ,west indian and eastern europeans and offering protection to local business owners.

dismissing it as youthful rebellion is a grave mistake, just like that 80 year old nun calling them 'hotheads'.

we brand it so to our peril.

i was around for the mod revival, punk, new romantic, new wave and acid house. none of this involved shoving burning shit through the doors of jewish pensioners in newham.

You are spot on. In the spirit of political correctness we are seeing modern-day appeasement forced on us by a nation of ostriches.

How unfair of Galloway, Israel can enter and exit Gaza, whenever they want

Why does anybody take this man seriously. A man who stood in front of Saddam Hussein and addressed him thus "Sir, I salute your courage, your strength, your indefatigability...." and pretended to be a cat on national TV.

Not a nation but a ruling political elite.

I think his comments may not have been that well thought out but he did very much distance the Jewish population around the world from the political and military policies of Israel.

I am Jewish, not a practicing one in any way but turning the argument on it's head most Jewish people, perhaps outside Israel, have very little, if any feeling of belonging to Israel. In fact it gets to the point whereby the acts of Israel's political and military look entirely selfish in terms of the possible backlash against Jewish people around the world, who to be honest have no sympathy or support of what Israel is doing in Gaza. Israel is not the home of Jewish people. It is the home of Jewish practicing Arab people in that area. A million miles from the rest if us.

Having seen first hand what Israel's military do to psychologically torture the ordinary Gaza population at night with ultra light flares and sound barrages is pretty inhumane.

I was taught to respect all people of all religions and colour. Sadly religion and governments with agendas are the scourge of our world. I live in Luton and a lot of Muslim people here are deeply concerned by what the so called Islamic State is doing in Iraq. Dangerous governments and extremism is a few nut cases forcing their deluded views on the masses. The masses then suffer.

I am Jewish and live outside Israel and have a very strong feeling of belonging to Israel. Whilst you may not be a practising one, I think you will find that Israel is the home of the Jewish people. One hopes that never again will their be a rise in fascism the likes of which were seen in Europe prior and during the Second World War but if it ever got that bad there's only one place that you could go and would accept you no questions asked and that is Israel.
There is a tremendous amount of sympathy around the world from Jewish people as seen on many Pro Israel marches around the world.
Your comment about being the home of Jewish practising Arab people is laughable

My point on the Jewish practising Arab people line is that most generational people living in that part of the world, given that there have now been nearly seven decades and perhaps 4 generations of indigenous people there is that they live in an Arabic area and have become Arabic by definition. There is nothing wrong with being Arabic. There is nothing wrong with having a strong feeling towards Israel, if you feel that way. But the big problem is that if you go to Israel and you go to Gaza (I have been to both working for the news with the BBC) you get to see that most of the 'normal' civilians on both sides of the divide are actually really similar. Whether they be muslim or jewish, they are very similar people. Most could live happily together. My point is that if your country sits in the middle of an Arabic territory after decades and generations you become indigenous. If others around you stoop to violence you gain the upper hand with diplomacy and grace. Of course you defend yourself. But if others come at you, you highlight their indiscretions, not obliterate them and ignore collateral damage caused.

I also sat in Jordan with two guys from Gaza some years ago. One worked in New York and had a very easy view on people and religions, the other, who had really never left the area, when he found out I was jewish wouldn't talk to me for an hour and was visibly shaken. It was only when we got talking a few hours later that he realised that I didn't hate him and that a lot of what he had been taught was a myth. His final comment that evening was 'both sides here need to educate themselves to talk and be amongst the each other. But we never get the chance.'

This is the great sadness. Counties seeking out mythological differences when essentially the majority are similar in mind and temperament and just want a peaceful life.
