Morgan Whittaker told he isn’t in Russell Martin’s long term Swansea City pl on 16:53 - Dec 3 with 2329 views | Flynnidine_Zidownes | It’s a shame because he’s clearly got ability, but it is hard to see how he can fit into this system as a winger when we don’t play wingers. He will never do the wing back thing so he’s humped.

I'd bet he regrets it already, lets hope Swansea City don't regret it even more than him. With the amount of game time Whittaker has had since Russell arrived, it was pretty evident that he didn't figure in the managers plans. Personally, I think he has quality, far more than Cullen, but what do I know.

In years to come? I reckon he's already regretting it. I have a horrible feeling this young man will come back to haunt us one day.

Morgan Whittaker told he isn’t in Russell Martin’s long term Swansea City pl on 18:53 - Dec 3 with 2083 views | ReslovenSwan1 | Hang on a minute. Martin is telling the player he is no in his plans for THIS SEASON that means until July 2022. This does not seem to be the Asoro Cooper option which stated. "Joel might come back but is not in our plans". Whittaker and his agent may have not wanted to go on loan This is the shove to make him go on loan in his and clubs best interests. MW has far more to offer across the front 3 than Cullen could ever hope for. The worrying thing here is that Martin is immaturely, naively, egotistically (I'll come back to that) ousting a talented front 3 (he can play left, mid and right) because of the Bournemouth debacle. He ridiculously stuffed MW into a way too defensive role for him. And has become the scapegoat, someone to deflect the blame for poor decision making and selection. Warra ego. Let's hope Martin isn't so egotistical that his judgement is becoming so clouded as to ditch the senior players' Plan B, for Martin's diabolically egotistical Plan A of style (?) over anything meaningfully footballing, winning. . .

. You think he's a winger ? Jesus wept, with a username like that at the very least do some basic research, Flynno. He's an out and out front 3, with an eagle eye for goal, plays mid-left-right along the line. Has stature, presence and a hunger to kick on. Scores rare (for Swansea)hat tricks, with ease. And a youthful, eager to please, hungry to learn and succeed mindset. And Martin chooses Cullen. Oh dear. Defensively minded Martin fails to see. He looks, but fails to see beyond our defensive, protective structure. I'm genuinely concerned he doesn't have the nous to push us further fwd. Worrying times. Fans that fail to see this, ain't proper football fans. And we know who you are. . .

I have seen nothing to suggest Whittaker is done at Swansea like Asoro was. He needs a spell in the lower leagues to score goals and get confidence. Neither Doyle or Balogun will be at Swansea next season if they sign up for6 months.

Agreed. Russell is one of the most frustrating managers I can remember. He’s so close to being excellent, but there are key flaws that are letting him down and it’s really affecting things. It seems to be born out of stubbornness and an obsession “to build” which is something I’m not too keen on. We are (were) on a nice improvement and learning curve, settling on a nice style of play and the team was picking itself, which is always a positive. But the selections are sometimes just bizarre, pitting Naughton against Andy Carroll and dropping an in form physical defender. Playing Cabango/Bennett out wide and a Naughton in the middle at times. Hitting on some real success with the mixed style then reverting it to a style that doesn’t work. Then Whittaker looking like he had finally broken a ceiling banging in a hattrick only to be overlooked for the increasingly disappointing Cullen. These just clearly aren’t the right calls, yet they are being repeated. It’s just so frustrating. If he could learn what works, and most importantly what doesn’t… then stick with it, I think we would be flying in the league. The concern I have is that he has a fascination with building, and as a result never actually gets anything built. He was still “building something” at MK Dons 18 months after taking over… then left it. The likes of Brendan, Roberto etc had a vision of how they wanted the team to play, made the right calls, implemented it quickly and stuck with it. They weren’t forever tinkering and changing the style of play for no reason. This is my only issue with Martin currently. The continued clearly incorrect calls and stubbornly sticking with them or repeating them. But the good bits about him are very good, hence the frustration.

Better attitude?you know he got a bad one then,....without doubt he's a better option than Cullen on the bench as back up...and I'd go as far to say what I've seen of obafemi better than him too, more composure on ball can create and shoot out of nothing, can actually control and hide ball, more than pair of them.r m got this one wrong...

After speaking to several derby fans I think so, they were glad to get rid of him, couldn't believe how much they got.

I think we have to trust the manager here. He sees things behind the scenes we don’t - in my view he only uses Cullen as a last resort as he obviously has problems with Obafemi and Whittaker. A shame but not every player fits in perfectly at every club. If he’s sensible he’ll go on loan and smack goals in and develop. Perhaps it’s his lack of obedience by refusing to go out on loan (and thus scuppering RM’s choice forward to come in) that has condemned him (for this season at least).

You've seen nothing to suggest...what about the fact that Cullen has done absolutly nothing but still gets on the pitch ahead of Whittaker, even when Whittaker has played well for the U23's and scored or how about his goals in the cup match that still couldn't earn him a shot in the league?
