I don't think the formation has anything to do with it tbh. We gave the ball away again in midfield and they scored. They deserve to be out of sight by now. Shocking performance

Currently stealing the game 1-0. Hopefully a change of formation halftime.

Sounds worse than last week. Hoping these 4 new players get us going. I'm still confident that duff will get it right as for 1. He has started badly at his two previous clubs and 2. Our owners don't sack managers in the championship.

Swansea City v Bristol City : Match day thread UPDATED on 14:39 - Sep 2 with 1877 views | onehunglow | I read about hard work needed to be done. Depends what work is done This is now worrying. God knows Indespised Martin but Duff looks lost ,forlorn and worse, speechless. It looks like he hasn’t the fight and his spirit is broken already. Granted our owners are……but this is down to him

You live for Saturdays like this it seems. Enjoy the day. Better (or worse depending on your perspective ) days are ahead. I believe Duff is a tough nut and he will get the engine running. The team have been living the Martin processes where the process wins games not graft will and positive forces. Pass the ball around and wear out the opposition Just play and wait. The players are still waiting for things to fall into the lap by the Martin process. Grimes is key to all this. MHe must lead his men a out of this stupor. Duff praised Joey Allen at least.
| Wise sage since Toshack era |

Swansea City v Bristol City : Match day thread UPDATED on 15:57 - Sep 2 with 1501 views | RichardO | Hope Duff has learnt about some of ours players that Cooper and Russell took a while too. And hope the new players fit into the gaps that have been highlighted. Ashby made a number of mistakes, that are to be expected given his kack of experience but he seem to have no encouragement to try and give him a lift. Was he the right man to come off maybe but was Naughton the right man to play in as a full back in a back four, no that ship sailed a long time ago. For me Key is on the wrong side, maybe Ginnelly is as well, could Ginnelly play in a number ten role? . We got the goal and riding our luck managed to come in 1 nil up, Duff tried to change to a four unsuccessfully, lack of pace Naughton and with Key as left back playing out of position and lacking experience at this level. We were unable to play through the middle, I think Patino would be a better fulcrum to play through. Think we will see some changes on return from the international break.

It’s the first season I’m finding it hard to fault our owners (managerial appointment aside). I thought they’d pull the rug yesterday but they backed him, stood firm with Southampton and rejected Blackburns bid. Starting from Cardiff, it’s not a Russell Martin team anymore. If players are still doing things coached into them by Martin, don’t pick them. They’ve bought him an entire new starting eleven. No more excuses.

Good post. Appreciate that. Feel the same way. They have made money available and soon we will see if tits been spent wisely . Biggest mistake not selling Wood for what looked like ludicrous money. Duff does look a beaten man tough and it worries me that he feels it’s a tougher job than he thought initially . Wood,Cabango ,Darling all now gash and Ny/ everyone of her could be replaced . Grimes is key though. The very reason why we are what we are. Slows it down T a stroke and freezes in front of goal. No captain or leader at all. I thought Cabango would have become a leader but ,lik3 others,he s regressed . Nobody should be happy or simply taking their ire out of other fans .

Swansea City v Bristol City : Match day thread UPDATED on 16:33 - Sep 2 with 1394 views | Treforys_Jack | We are difficult to watch atm, it's easy to want to lash out at individual players, but something clearly isn't right. We are being outrun, outfought and out thought. We seem slower than all our opponents so far this year. Not really sure what style of play Duff is trying to create. It's got to get better surely, by next game please.
