Perhaps time for those who want an electric vehicle to vote with their feet and send the U S A a message by purchasing an alternative ? [Post edited 27 Mar 18:20]

Trump may think that he’s Billy Big Bollocks but when the Bond Market Vigilantes say jump, even he has to enquire “ how high” ? Hence his face saving capitulation yesterday. It’s not coincidence that Covid supposedly ended very suddenly in the U K. Nothing to do with the medical evidence and everything to do with Johnson and Sunak being unable to borrow any more money at favourable terms to throw at the public. Same with Liz Truss, the Bond Market Vigilantes didn’t like her economic policies and within 49 days she was just a footnote in history. |
I think China also holds the upper hand in this stand off ? They hold trillions in US Treasury bonds. If they start selling all hell will break out. It would hurt them as well, but would re-inforce message that US can no longer be relied on. Interest rates would definitely go up, no matter how much Trump rants at the US FED reserve Just had a quick look at Dow and Nasdaq - opened down again. This affects most of us, with defined contribution pensions/ Money purchase schemes, especially those nearing draw down. For some it might be just the excuse needed not renew Season ticket ! (only joking , we need all the support we can get). Can't wait for Trumps visit to UK ! [Post edited 10 Apr 16:14]

No I don't advocate either of them, but Sunak/Hunt got the economy growing at 1.3% over just TWO quarters with inflation down to 2%. Reeves is looking at 1% growth for the whole year. Labour economically inept as usual. | | | |
