I must admit, watching live I thought Edwards had taken the ball out, but on the replay (from the camera angle admittedly) he seemed to have kept it in - great effort, but it might have cost him the rest of the game.

Edwards did brilliantly to not only keep it in but his pass to Payne was sublime.
Our injuries are mounting sadly.
Can we get Samson back soon, I really hope so.

He looks the part but is often out muscled and fails to impose himself on the pitch.

It's a drag, no Payne or Edwards but I can't say I enjoyed much of how we went about the first half. I'm sure there's plenty I don't know obviously.
Egbo has looked out of sorts recently for me and I don't understand Hunt's inclusion at this level. Thankfully our back four seem in accord along with Macey.
Must see what the second half brings.

Stand outs by the two centre half’s last night . Only until Hawkins enters the scene do we not look uncomfortable at the back, played into our hands until then.
The goal, Edward’s first touch the ball was definitely in and although the ball ran the line did not look completely over,
Think the ref was looking for his own leveller in the second half, has the challenge looked six of one, half a dozen of the other.
Without Payne or Edward’s, we’re never going to score again unless from a set piece, has Simpson went to deep and Thorn needs more belief in shooting .
Gills lumped and crossed everything so great credit to the defenders only conceding a dubious penalty.
Squad now bare with injuries and illness, perhaps recall Lisbie from the Iron could bolster the wide men . Only a good point if there is a follow up at the weekend .

What do you expect from a side missing four of it's best starting XI and that's before two more of them went off! Plus of those that did play how many are struggling with knocks or this sickness bug? How deep do you expect a squad to be at League Two level? Arsenal and Spurs have been moaning about injuries for most of the season and you can be sure that their squads are significantly deeper than ours. |  |

Spot-on. Regardless of their 'energy and passion' Gillingham didn't look like they could lay a glove on us without a dubious penalty, even with the U's well below par. As you say, it's only a good point if we follow it up with three more on Saturday...and the Saturday after that...and six over Easter etc. | |
