It depends who we bring into midfield.
O’Brien won’t be staying, Franco and Widell are young and foreign. If we bring in an experienced championship midfielder then maybe not.
If, in the more likely scenario we try to unearth a rough diamond on the cheap, then we’re probably going to need a figure like Joe for them to learn from. Same would apply if we promoted Cotterill or Congreve to the first team.
