Luke Modric talk 19:37 - Apr 15 with 5762 views | 1983 | It's seems to be that most football fans are talking about it the least amount are Swansea City fans? Are we not bothered? Is it just more spin when it was needed? Is it something and nothing?

Luke Modric talk on 11:47 - Apr 16 by Boundy | maybe the reluctance by some to bring out the flags is based how many false dawns have we had since relegation, I for one hope its the start of a new beginning but only last week how many were criticising the board for cancelling am official coach to Sunderland or the fact that despite the recent positive displays & results AS and ourselves have no idea of who the next manager will be . I hope it is the start but my understanding is that investors tend to want a return on their investment ,just hope this isn't going to cost the Club in the long run . Welcome Luka, a wonderful player & hopefully a smart businessman who's seen the potential of the Club. |
This all day long. | | | |

Absolutely, as I said hopefully this just the beginning of stability within the Club and not just a whim .

I've offered some criticism historically but this excites me It night wean a few off the little ol' Swansea syndrome We ain't small and deserve to be PL as much as Bournemouth Brentford, Fukham and Brighton all doing just fine, as we were before combusting We can get back We should get back We must aim To get back

Certainly should be what we are aiming for at least. With Modric on the board ( I assume he us even if just for his knowledge and expertise) and all the rest of the positivity flying around hopefully we are on an upward trajectory

If he has acquired a 5% stake it would need to come from one or more of the shareholders and their stake would be diluted. This would then need to be shown on the club website as shareholders percentage it's not up until now, nor is there a change listed at companies house. This should be done immediately to comply with EFL rules and government legislation.

Yep. The 5% stake might be in the club or the holding company (if it still exists). There's a fair bit of PR doing the rounds about this. Still, hard to see it as anything other than a positive. People are taking note of the club now who weren't before. Certainly it's hard to think of a downside to it.

Only positives will come of this without a doubt. But up until now there is no evidence of any financial commitment by Modric. I still think it will be a share gift for comercial promotion. But let's wait and see.

I think there's a real possibility of people starting to gripe in about six months time when he's not appeared to do a bit of keepy uppy at half time in a game. Everyone involved has been quite clear in stating that his first priority for the moment is continuing his playing career, preferably at Real. He may be someone that the board consult with (like Ben Davies apparently) but he's still a fair ways off from being anything like hands on.

So many just don't understand how football finances work. I have been told in passing that Modric has invested anything from £5M to £12M and everything in between. Complete nonsense and just figures plucked from the air. Let's see the evidence first.

Obviously his actual stake has to be revealed at some time.

Not if it in in the LLC, but he has to be listed on the club website because the LLC own more than 10% of the shares.

Can he invest in an LLC in the USA ? If it exists still.

I believe this is the last shareholding statement on the club website. Until something is listed somewhere he doesn't actually have a shareholding. If it was in the LLC he would need to be named on here, if it was as an individual other shareholdings would be diluted [obviously you can't have over 100%] and this would need to be updated as would Companies House. https://www.swanseacity.com/club/ownership-statement
