Wrexham & Birmingham City 21:02 - Apr 30 with 1689 views | KeithHaynes | Saw a feature on sky sports earlier. My word both of these clubs have some money. Their commercial revenue is astonishing, especially outside of the UK. The guy speaking reckons they will be signing players in the summer who will not only get them up but will already be premier league ready. The thing to note is both clubs can ‘only’ spend 13M this coming financial period, but there’s plenty more they can spend on other things not P&S related. That won’t be declared until the year after next. Plus as we’ve seen with the Swans this year who went over the threshold on paper there’s plenty of ways of remaining well within the P&S regulations. Both clubs will be spending millions this summer. Buying their way to the EPL it seems. Thoughts ?

Due to Hollywood actors and Tom Brady nfl legend, we never had anyone with that kind of pull. Amazing the publicity we have had lately just with the name Modric

She did once I’m certain. The unfortunate thing is there was little sparkle in the leadership, no innovation or creativity.

Wrexham & Birmingham City on 21:54 - Apr 30 with 1442 views | Dr_Winston | A lot of people seemed to think that Wrexham would struggle next season. With the financial advantage they have in terms of sponsorships, I wouldn't be remotely surprised to see them as serious playoff contenders.

I’ve gone public in here and still believe they’ll be too 6 at the very least. Only you and me who think that though by the looks of it. I may put a bet on but I doubt I’ll get any staggering odds.

Not sure about the "very least" part, but I would not be surprised to see them up there. I don't think people understand the advantage that their commercial income gives them. It's basically parachute payments. They're going to be millions ahead of us from day one of the season.

The income yes but as I’ve said many times, the momentum also. So “very least” may be more likely than some imagine. It’ll be interesting for sure.

Wrexham & Birmingham City on 22:47 - Apr 30 with 1323 views | SullutaCreturned | Oh come on, they will buy players good enough to get them up who are EPL ready? if those players are there then surely the current EPL clubs will have them and it'd cost Wrexham a large fortune to buy them and pay them what would effectively be matching an EPL wage. Players good enough for the EPlL must be on 40k per week and to get them to drop down a tier would cost even more, can Wrexham afford 600k to 1 million per week given that Reynolds himself said last season they needed new investment. They turned over 26 in 2023 with nearly 14 of that being from commercial, now here's the thing, that commercial bubble will burst one day. If they don't get more success next season that may be the point where things start to turn because one day people will start to lose interest. People don't have the attention span and it's already been 3 years.

Not even the clubs with parachute payments pay "600k to 1 million per week". Be serious. All that's being said is that they have a significant financial advantage over most of the division, and that is demonstrably true. If we're going to win promotion we're going to have to do it against that.

That's kind of the point. The relegated clubs have much larger wage bills than the existing championship clubs and they have parachute money which is much more than Wrexhams income. How will Wrexham get thoe players good enough for promotion and EPL ready? Are they going to pay significantly more than Leeds did this season? Can they outspend Leicester, Southampton and Ipswich? They're on the crest of a wave at the moment and it can't last forever, it never does not even for the massive clubs. BTW, Leeds wage bill this season, 610k per week, Burnley's is £567,500 so to entice players in to go straight up they'll have to at least match that kind of wage and in all likelihood outbid it.
Wrexham & Birmingham City on 23:26 - Apr 30 with 1228 views | Kilkennyjack | Both promoted clubs will be top half. I dont think they can get get promoted though. I fancy our Swan to be above both.

Wrexham & Birmingham City on 23:27 - Apr 30 with 1225 views | ItchySphincter | The freak show around the corner has clearly shown us that huge wage bills get you out of the division. ;) One thing is for sure, even for those not willing to bet against Wrexham, and that is that the wheels will eventually fall off - maybe not this season, or the next, or the next, but eventually they will and they will return to their natural level. They’ll be lucky to bounce between the bottom three divisions and should be counting their lucky stars that they’re not in the Vauxhall Conference.

That’s what the guy said, Birmingham have done it in League one and have many players who will perform at a good level in the championship. They’ve already broken the league one (Div3) transfer record twice. I wouldn’t doubt any of this. Wrexham have a long way to go to catch up, but they have the moolah that’s for sure.

Wrexham & Birmingham City on 06:09 - May 1 with 1066 views | PawelAbbott | I thought it wasn't that they could only spend £13m but that they couldn't lose more than £13m after their income. Their expected income is around £40M. It was over £20m in League 2, I believe. That gives them £53M to spend, roughly. They had 2 Hollywood stars with a hit Netflix series. We had Ken Gude rearranging the payment system at the kiosks.

Like I said, their commercial pull won't last forever and last season their average crowd was less than 12k , 11.122 I think. How many more will come to watch them next season? We'll see. The Reynolds/McIlhenney roadshow will end one day and then they'll be dependent on the fans again. Out of interest because I can't remember, what was our average gate when we came up from league1?
