The deal was actually known and on the table a few weeks ago, possibly longer. Sheehan has tried really hard to get him another season. Being offered a contract or terms doesn’t always mean a player will accept them. There is an alternative for Joe Allen after the season ends which we are going to sit on for now, however there is going to be a whole load of Swans news over the coming weeks or so.
Whether we get it first or just add good context is of no concern to me whatsoever. |  | | |

I think the breakdown from memory is 800k up front and the rest over three years. Don’t quote me on it but I’m getting the feeling that some players won’t come in until after this years P&S deadline is over. Spreading costs more favourably over the next three years. | |

Joe has proved that he can make a difference in the last 20-30 mins , that and an influence off the field in some osrt of coaching role wouldnt harm us or Wales at all. |  | | |

Us and Cardiff were in the same boat for a while, our best player crocked, a shit manager and an owner without a clue.
Thankfully things changed very much for the better for us but Cardiff went from one calamity to another.
I think Joe has made the right decision, we couldn't rely on him for a full season and we need that. Likewise Naughton, we need to move on and rebuild, the old guard were magnificent for us but we need fresh troops. We can't keep poutting it off. | | | |
