I guess that was likely to happen:

Yes sadly inevitable. A very good coach though. Would love him here but guessing it is a step backwards for him? Although I am sure he would actually do well down south.

Never knowingly right.

How do you know he's a very good coach? What's he achieved exactly?

By comparison Warnock's win average for us was just over 40%
I admit he didn't get Boro back up but they did serve us our arse on a plate at Loftus Road last season.
He won't come in anyway.

Never knowingly right.

Spent lots of money on the team and did not get them even in the playoffs.

I wonder if that means Josh Coburn, a 6.3 number 9, might be available on the cheap; he looked decent for Millwall last season and is only 22.

Boro sold Isaiah Jones late in the Jan window to Luton for £5m (including add-ons). Maybe Boro still have to sell, and it was a rumour that they wanted £2m for him, but Wall didn't have the money.

Luton may need to move Jones on now they are relegated as otherwise those addons could hurt them.

Picking up Jones and Coburn on the cheap would be great deals!

zzzzzzzzzz

They also sold that Latte Lath for a ridiculous amount of money...

I suppose it depends on how you are defining achievement.
On that basis, glancing down at the Championship table you could easily describe 80/90% of the coaches having achieved nothing.
There are some good coaches in the division though - and as mentioned above, 46% win rate is pretty impressive.
Can't say that Carrick would be my choice of coach, but he seems to have been a good coach all the same - all be it with a very reasonable budget to play with at Boro.

Spent a good couple of hours in the pub before the 4-1 home pasting chatting with some Boro fans.

In a nutshell...they said most fans liked Carrick, thought he was a good coach, liked the way he represented the club, and appreciated he was hamstrung to some extent by players sales (I know, I know, it's all relative) - but what drove them all mad was inconsistency. The whole time he was there, they'd go on a great run, everyone would dare to get excited, then they'd have a nightmare month and be back to square one.

Again as I say all things are relative - their inconsistency meant just missing the play offs, ours meant just pulling clear of relegation...but it was that inconsistency they predicted would do for him in the end.

But aren’t Warnock’s stats not like-for-like as he had half a season in the Prem.

Wow! You're right. With that record, he's clearly an outstanding prospect.

He didn't say outstanding.

That record pro-rata gets you into the playoffs this season
