Although most know about a move to Norwich City being preferred.
Couldn’t help noticing his business interests have changed recently. Although not an absolute indicator with the current news going around it makes sense.
Got some news this evening that he was never really keen on Birmingham and they didn’t seem too keen on him. Plus his injury from the end of the season had to be positively approved before he could sign for anyone, this could well drag on if his latest scans aren’t transparent enough for a clear decision.
Not sure on the latest there.
Norwich have offered him a far bigger deal we have been told which far outweighs the Swans offer on a basic weekly wage and offers bigger incentives over his contract. He gets a huge signing on fee, whatever that means.
** The last thing we have is the deal isn’t 100% as of this morning.
Either way he has played his last game for the Swans.
Get ready for the agent written statement for the gullible.

Darling WAS my favourite player but he is moving on simple as.
He was clearly looking to join back up with Manning hence his original links with Bristol City.
Manning moving to Norwich
has clearly protracted the process hence him stalling.
Darling originates from Cambridge - hasn't he business interests in Cambridge?
if so Norwich and Manning is a perfect fit for him.

I think a couple of things have conspired to change the thinking of Darling over the last couple of months. He had offers on the table. Birmingham, who I thought he was going too but Keith said he wasn't interested. Sheffield United who were an attractive offer until they lost the play off final. We improved our offer which changed things again. Then the final straw was Manning going to Norwich which has changed everything again. Do I think the stalling has damaged our recruitment, not in my opinion. The club still think Darling is the best option, that's why they would still like him to sign. If he doesn't sign we will have to pay a transfer fee for a replacement, I can't see us paying any fee until the new financial year in July, so is anything held up. I think we will sign free transfers this month, but transfers with a fee are a month away. Sheehan wanted his squad in place by July IMO it will be two weeks later and then it will change particularly with offloading forwards and others coming in. All purely my opinion, we will just have to wait and see. |  | | |

New? Yes. His injury info for one and two I had no idea that Norwich has for some time been a preferred destination.
That injury. Nobody's ever said how he got such a bad injury seemingly travelling to the Millwall game. I'd be curious to know how he got it.

Indeed they are ,that why I have a little chuckle when you see grown men with Club shirts on with a players name on the back. I have no issue with a player moving on ,why would I as I'd like to think the replacement is as good if not better than the one going. | |

The previous regime should either have looked to tie him down two years ago on a much improved contract (if they rated him) or sell him in 2024. Allowing a player with what you'd consider to have a substantial sell on value to run his contract down and walk on a free is pretty poor judgement. From 2 years out it should be sign or were actively looking to move you on. From 18 months to go that player has to be sold in the winter window. Bad bit of business this. | | | |
