New manager bottom of the barrel 23:42 - Jun 4 with 2794 views | wombat | Sure we was told that the club had a list of manager drawn up for this very situation of marti leaving . How many of this so called list have we Spoken to? They have turned us down? Wax there even a list ? Marti seems to not be showing any signs of getting a new job anytime soon . And what ever players budget will be affected by this taking longer than they expect . [Post edited 5 Jun 23:25]

The club has the list - but none in the list wants in? Marti has his list - but none of the club wants him? The position of Head Coach at Queens Park Rangers is still a very attractive role, if you ask me [Post edited 5 Jun 3:40]

New manager bottom of the barrel on 04:27 - Jun 5 with 2486 views | bongo_king | Funny, I thought of that quote on the club having a list of managers to replace Marti yesterday while wondering when we'll get news. When comparing that quote to the situation we are in - Marti 6 weeks into gardening leave and no replacement with some names rumoured to be on that supposed list getting new jobs - it does suggest the decision was hasty and/or poorly thought out. As has been mentioned elsewhere, Nourry needs this next appointment to go very well given we're in a mess of his own doing, and that is probably just adding to delays. While not a CN fan, looking at ins and outs I don't think it's beyond him to get the next appointment right; though there is probably an equal chance he gets it very wrong. I'd say the time to start really worrying is if we get to late June and there is no news.

I won't claim to be ITK, but a contact at the SGHS has informed me that his azaleas are coming up a treat.

New manager bottom of the barrel on 09:09 - Jun 5 with 1865 views | SW_Ranger | Martí’s under contract. Clubs need to ask permission if they wish to negotiate a release. Or … Martí can agree a deal to leave early - the good old “mutual agreement”. He sure ain’t coming back, so he may as well sort it soon or all the good jobs will be gone. He doesn’t strike me as the type of manager who wants to be out of a full-time role for very long.

I think we are getting to the stage where most of us would say that Cifuentes and Nourry should get around a table and bury the hatchet. If the person we would bring in isn't as good as what we know Marti can be what's the point? Everyone is allegedly a grown up and if we get a fast start this coming season (as unlikely as that may be) then perhaps most fans would forget this episode? I certainly don't see the point of trading down. It makes no sense.

Watford never appear to have an issue with this approach!!

Quite a few years ago the company I worked for was taken over by a 'group' - the people running this group were, how can I say, not very nice people (I will leave it there). In was MD and reported to the group board of directors. We did very well, made money and everyone was happy, then some of the decisions being made by them reflected very badly on our business but was it their fault? no, it was all mine. So, one day I went into the office as normal, called into the board room and was told that I was to go home, hand over my keys, would be on full pay whilst a full investigation had taken place. I was not under any circumstances allowed to have any contact with any staff members and clients. I asked how long would this take and was told, it will take as long as it takes!! So off I went on garden leave and just sit and wait. Approximately five weeks later I was told to attend a meeting at an off site location. I attended this meeting and was told that I had done nothing wrong, the business not performing was not of my making, was offered a bonus payment, and my job re-instated with a pay increase. I accepted, we shook hands and I returned to work, all of my staff were pleased that I was back as were our clients. I hated them for putting me through all the worry etc and I had already plotted my revenge. After 8 months, I held all the cards and bought the business from them, happiest day of my life telling them to F*ck right off. What has this got to do with MC - nothing except, being put on garden leave is not always the end of the road and people do get their jobs back. I like him and would be happy to see him return.

That said, taking your analogy to its logical conclusion, you'd have to think that Marti is less than impressed with what he will see as Nourry's draconian overreaction to what goes on all the time in the general footballing world. If he wasn't actively looking for the exit before now but was just "assessing his options" I doubt this episode will have done very much for his desire to stay loyal to the club.
