Rumours abound that he's not happy here and I dont think many Saints fans would be too bothered to see him go.
So I reckon we cut our losses on him and bring in two new right backs or at least one decent one and promote a youngster.

You seem to like Juan Larios and see him as the "surprise package" in the Championship. The problem is, it's a very small package. He is 5 foot 7 inches small and also pretty lightweight in his frame when I last saw him. He is too small for a defender and will be brushed aside. If he had electric pace that might make up for it, but he doesn't.
We made the mistake of trying to sign tippy-tappy midgets to play possession football and he was probably the prime example of a failed strategy. I have heard bits and pieces of recognition from the club that we need more physicality and I am preying that they follow up on that.
Larios may succeed in the future at a club that so dominates possession that they don't have to do much actual defending, the type of club that plays wingers at full back e.g. Man City if he's good enough (he probably isn't). But that's a failed strategy for a club like us, so Larios doesn't belong with us as a full back. Maybe he has a future in midfield/wing back, but we'd have to see more of him to know.
I'd keep Suga, Bree, Taylor and Manning if they can be persuaded (I think Suga and Taylor want to leave). Don't spend money here, this bunch aren't great but they are good enough. Save the money for other positions. | | | |
