I heard a couple of Iranian exiles on the car radio on the way in to work. Their accounts of the repression and maltreatment of the Iranian people were quite stark. One said as the bombing started yesterday journalists were being murdered for reporting what was happening. One commentator noted that Iraq and Jordan had given permission for Israel to use their air space, Jordan was actively shooting down Iranian drones and that Lebanon had told Hezbollah not to get involved. His summary was that Iran has been actively destabilising the Middle East for a number years and a change in Iran may be the best chance for peace in the region. I'd say actions speak louder than words when it comes to how countries regard Iran.

Israel are not an illegal state, they are recognised by the EU. There are not recognised by some and some others still don't have diplomatic relations with them but calling them illegal is factually wrong.
it's also not entirely accurate to say there was peace there before the Balfour declaration. There was relative peace AND conflict in Palestine with tension between the different religious and ethnic groups. The balfour declaration did increase tensions, did make things worse leading up to today and what can only be described as mass murder by the Israeli's.
