Morrison is a Nourry signing. Apparently the only reason we got him was Nourry’s links to Bayern. No idea what those connections are. If so, fair enough, great signing. But Nourry has a vested interest in him playing more over Cook. Obviously he should be the long term Cook replacement. But for my money Cook and JCS are still the first choice, and should be!

But the glaring issue obviously is that JCS can’t get on the pitch without Williams’ wonder techniques that only work in person (and don’t work at all outside the UK as Boston found out and swiftly sacked him) and Cook was essentially out for 5 months of last season with a pretty nasty injury bar the couple of games he dragged himself onto the pitch to trigger a new deal and then disappear again.

It’s likely going to have to be Morrison plus one of the new CB’s they’ll have to bring in this summer and we are going to have to pray Williams can soothsay Morrison into 30+ starts.

Well, because the new Head Coach has it as his preferred formation according to the French football journos. And if he doesn’t play 442, he builds around a 4 man midfield. Is that not interesting given our game model is a 3 man midfield, or so it seems so far at least?

Interesting to hire a HC who doesn’t usually play our game model when our game model is quite universal and his preferred system is quite unusual.

Anyone know the reference to Bretons? “Strong minded”. Interested to see how his relationship with Nourry unfolds.

Hopefully he is an excellent coach and is entrusted to do his job properly and fully.

At any other club I would have assumed that he came into this club with his eyes fully open to the previous relationship breakdown.

If he’s joined knowing this and still expects autonomy then more fool him.

Absolutely superb, listened on an extra long (self-induced) commute on the Weaver, Mildmay and Windrush lines (the orange line if you will) this morning. Thank you.

Quite a coup to get some input from Julien Laurens. I listen to him on The Euro Leagues Podcast.

I think he’s eyes wide open. But from those interviews sounds like he’s a strong minded fella and that that is a deep seated personality type. So, at some point, he’s likely to disagree with Nourry, and I suspect he wont hold his piece. He has history for falling out with those above.

I’m not saying it’ll happen immediately, but let’s review in 12 months. I’m interested in how it plays out.

I’m hoping some pre agreements took place and everyone sticks to them.

Fingers crossed it lasts! I can’t see Nourry surviving two fallouts.

Very encouraging that, thanks very much. I was very worried we were going to get the Danish futsal coach, but JS is clearly a cut above that, and no doubt however tough it is in the Championship he’ll be grateful he didn’t say yes to Iran. I was a little surprised that a discussion on an incoming Frenchman didn’t get around to the topic of fromage favori.

I'd like to listen to this, but I don't appear to have that option, even though I'm a subscriber....

Hopefully its just my natural pessimism and of course I want the guy and QPR to do well, but every summer it feels like clubs spend loads of money shifting players in and out only to end up just as good (or bad, depending on your outlook) as they were before it all started anyway, and we've basically just done the same in the managerial position.
