Totally agree, a good friend of mine was caught up in the London Bridge attack and witnessed it all first hand. He said the police were incredibly brave on that occasion too. We ask them to put themselves in what can be very dangerous situations so surely giving them all tasers is not an unreasonable ask. |  | |  |

The guy has been given 40 years today, all over the news. Tragedy that a 14 year old kid has lost his life. I do think that a man going into a house with a sword to attack a family ( luckily he didnt kill the family when he saw their daughter) and the police can't taser him down to prevent murder is crazy. He could have killed them, and the police were powerless as he had a sword. Someone comes into your house and tries to attack your family with weapons, and the police can't help? Despite many instances of police getting it wrong, they were very brave in this instance.
The guy had been a long term user of drugs. Drugs seem to be a common theme in lots of the problems, and seems out of control in many areas of the UK. There are videos of him unwrapping swords and placing them on social media. He is Brazilian and is linked to crime there. How was he not tracked by the authorities? There should be more mental health provisions, but the UK is skint isn't it, hence a Labour government wanting to take money away from the disabled! [Post edited 27 Jun 15:07]

That could have been my daughter as at that time of this poor boys murder she was frontline response cop... thankfully now she is a detective so no more blue light chases or night shifts ..i can actually sleep at night |  |
