More potential Premier League Nonsense on 10:35 - Jun 28 with 433 views | lassel | It’s been the case for a decade or more now while people were complaining about clubs being owned by people who don’t look like them, the Americans have been buying up the league. Within another decade relegation from the PL will be gone, or if we are lucky as a ‘gift’ to those of us outside the big American club, 1 team will be allowed to go up/down.

A huge bugbear of mine is when a team, particularly away, scores a last minute important goal and the camera immediately goes to the players and bloody manager rather than seeing the fans’ reaction.

Don't agree with this being something which happens. The American closed loop system works (and it does) because it encourages parity due to the draft system. That in turn works because if you want to play a sport at the highest level, you play in that league and are restricted to their rules. Everyone goes into a central draft, worst team gets the best player. Ironically the people that would benefit from this closed loop - Man City, Liverpool etc would be the ones preventing it. Can you imagine a world where Man City have the best player in the country in their youth team and say "sure, he can join Burnley". Or Chelsea's puppy farm giving some of their players up? I love the American sports system, love the parity. But I also love the old school promotion and relegation and the fact that more than just 30 teams have huge followings. The fact it's different it's what is making it interesting to them, I don't think they're going to kill the golden goose (deliberately, they'll still ruin it accidentally)

"So, Phil, do you feel any pressure knowing if you miss this penalty you'll be out of the cup?" "*uck off, will 'ya" "Phil, are you going to put your penalty to the keepers right or left?" "I said *uck off, or I'll nut ya"

The American cartel have been extremely clear that their aim is to close off telegation. It’s a large part of what the Super League was all about. They don’t care about winning, they want to kill the jeopardy to whack up the value of their assets. As said, a decade or so and it’ll be a fully closed, or at best 95% closed shop while everyone else is complaining about Middle Eastern owners.

More potential Premier League Nonsense on 05:53 - Jun 28 by Match82 | Nope but they often interview the head coach while the game is going on especially basketball. Crazy, the head coach is compelled to speak to media instead of watching his team play. And they wonder why the coaches are giving the shortest possible answer... |
Only in basketball AFAIK.* *I don't watch the NBA, which is why I didn't include it in my post.
