Livestock ban 09:26 - Jul 2 with 701 views | Boundy | A ban comes into force today, imposed by the Sennedd, the ban forbids cross "border" transportation of livestock between Wales & England in a bid to prevent the spread of blue tongue,a parasite which is spread by midges not livestock .Not sure how this will help but we're talking about the Senendd here, could be worse could be Xmas eve.

Does we do things differently in Wales ring a bell. If it's scientific advice how are things often different in Wales to the rest of the UK.

We are a largely rural community and may have different priorities. I do not accept all that the Senedd do is wrong.

"I do not accept all that the Senedd do is wrong." that's one vote for Eluned , she'll be pleased I'm sure.

I am not particularly impressed with her. She needs to o get Welsh people off handouts and back to work. Coming out with " "we are a post Industrial nation and need special measures " does not wash with me.

That quote does illustrate the problem.

Exactly. The Senedd seem to be handing out the begging bowl instead of concentrating on the Welsh positives and promoting Wales. With the Senedd so keen on recycling why not invest in major recycling plants instead of sending ours abroad. We could even do recycling for other parts of the UK and it could be a major industry for Wales. Providing our infrastructure could handle it. This is the type of plant I mean, many may have seen it from the M5 near Gloucester. https://gloucestershireefw.co.uk/ [Post edited 3 Jul 9:22]

But you seem to have assumed Boundy that they haven't taken scientific advice. Why ?
Livestock ban on 21:53 - Jul 4 with 136 views | majorraglan | When Blue tongue was in the Netherlands a couple of years ago and before it came to the U.K.the British government banned imports from the Netherlands. Now that Blue tongue is in the east of England, the Welsh government have imposed restrictions movements in to Wales. There is no ban per se, but there is a requirement for tests which are conducted at the owners expense. Scotland has also imposed restrictions.

OK but does that illustrate that the restrictions are not enough? Maybe there needs to be stronger action? And just to show it's not just about knocking the Senedd, I had a follow up appointment about my new hip, I discovered that waiting times for the operation (probably goingto need a new right hip in a couple of years) have dropped, there's beena big improvement since covid drove them up, it's under 2 years now. Still work to be done but any improvement is welcomed. The fact is the complaints aren'tlimited to the Senedd, all our politicians are getting so much wrong but some on here don't recognise that we moan about Westminster too.
