Ten minute or so interview. Speaks very well and makes a lot of sense.

Apologies if a Spackman, couldn't see another thread.

As ever, if they're coming here there's something wrong with them somewhere along the line.

That old line

Mbengue comes across as the classic QPR player with a bit of a screw loose who we all love.

Didn't the Posh chairman say he expects Poku to get sold for big bucks in a few years? Well here's hoping.

Poll: How old is everyone on here?

I think the best judge (most of the time) are how the fans of the old club react...

Like Bristol, Birmingham, we told you so! Haven't heard a bad word about either of these.

You're right also, I love Mbengue's craziness. It feels like you need one of those, although I know this will backfire when we see that first red card

From training footage and the game it looks like JS sees Smyth as a left winger, he did play there for Orient to be fair. Until we signed a replacement I'm not sure he'd leave as our depth on that side isn't great.

Also early May there was talk of a new contract for him, that's gone quiet

I wouldn't be surprised if he's signed that but they know he aint that popular on socials so they haven't done an announcement.

After all, Jack Colback and Morgan Fox appeared to have vanished into thin air.

This could be its own painful thread but, if he's talking about moving people on I'd guess:
Santos
Dixon Bonner

There will also have to be a couple of unexpected ones who will at least be made available, wonder who they might be?

I'd suggest, based on Dembele's return to fitness and bringing in Poku: Smyth. Not that I'd be happy but I think it's possible.

Think they'd be mad to get rid of Smyth. Can't be on much, one of the only few with pace, great availability, and works his socks off. I hope he's talking about Taylor Richards, regardless of his improved performance against mighty Stevenage. Him, Santos, Dixon-Bonner out, then maybe loans for some of Sutton, Bennie, Lloyd.

Yeah perhaps, he still has the year so they may feel there's no rush either way

Also odd on Colback and Fox, the fact we had quick and early confirmation on Paal also. Can only assume it's still in discussion, but as each day of pre season passes it's like what is the point anymore

If we have Larkeche and Esquidinha as our starting LBs then no wonder Smyth is left wing, they'll be an awful lot of defensive work to be done.
Same on the right when Adamson plays. Get ripped apart if you put Dembele in front of him.

Yeah that would work out to be fair, as both can also cover Smyth's attacking output

That’s why I think it would make sense to have Smyth on the left. Chair would be better in the centre as he isn’t great on tracking back and hung Paal out to dry a few times last season (admittedly he wasn’t fully fit). I also like being able to pin back the opposition full back with Smyth’s pace.

Nourry sounded almost normal in that interview.

He seems to be able to relax in front of a radio mike.

Why can't he relax in front of fans?

Vey odd.

He impresses me as a younger version of Simon Jordan. A smart individual, we are lucky to have him.

Wild horses couldn't drag me away...

As said above 2-3 out, so must be Santos, Dixon-Bonner…..maybe Lloyd on loan. Sounds like we do pre-season and see where we are for other additions. No experienced left back it seems. Do think we need some cover for Varane and Field. That’s why I’d go with re-signing Colback. Yes, I’d love a progressive midfielder….but maybe Varane is going to start doing that more…

I noticed he referred to Marti arriving "just before I officially arrived" or similar. Implying that he was involved in Marti recruitment before his "official" arrival.

When Jordan bought Palace he'd made £75m from the sale of his phone business. In today's money that's nearer £150m.

Nourry's got a way to go....

Didn’t Jordan lose all of that and a bit more ?

The two of them would make for a great return of the Self Righteous Brothers - 2.0.

That would be quite entertaining.

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?
