As I've pointed out before, we first reported the club (driven by Andy Belk's recruitment team) were keen on Cifuentes in 2022 both when we appointed Beale and then Critchley, but were put off by the buy out clause.
So to believe Nourry was "instrumental in the identification and recruitment of Marti" you'd also have to believe that the idiot who writes LFW sat in his back bedroom 18 months before that and pulled the name of the Spanish manager of Hammarby in Sweden out of thin air and made the whole thing up.

Late to the party but the thing I always find weird with Nourry is that he isn’t actually a bad speaker, and he comes from impeccable provenance yet seems to actively avoid doing it.
Anyone who has ever done public speaking or led a large team knows it’s 90% messenger and 10% message so as an Oxbridge lad he has everything going for him yet chooses to put out long statements on the official site after a blooper rather than just speaking to fans where it would easily blow over.
Here in Sweden there was an enormous scandal of Northvolt going bankrupt owing $bn’s and the founder walked away with a fortune while the staff got screwed with statutory redundancy, yet because he actively spoke to the staff everyday he built some sort of cult where the ex-staff still talk glowingly about him. | | | |

I think this is a uniquely British phenomenon.
We could look at a character like Boris Johnson, who to some degree has charisma and is able to speak in public forums. Yet after x amount of time the public decide they have had enough of him and public outcry forces him away.
Maybe less exposure to Nourry actually prolongs his job? |  | | |

I said after the DS won their final that we wouldn't make many signings in the summer and that interview more or less confirms it. Those lads deserve a shot.
I think it's the Red Bull Group who give their youngsters 20 first team games to prove they can stepup if not they are sold. Nourry is following the same model and good on him.

I thought Murphy looked good as well, but he is now over 21 and doesn't have any minutes above U21 level.
This is the harsh reality of what Nourry was saying, we shouldn't string these kids along if they are not close enough.

I think one of the issue with murphy was his size. well he was with the club for a long time and unless they expected him to suddenly grow 6 inhches in height over night he was never likely yo make the grade for us so why actually keep him on till he was 21 ? he does look a quality player though. |  |
