Time for a change. Stephens is not a leader, not guaranteed a regular slot (or shouldn't be guaranteed a regular starting place) and doesn't exactly set an example with his childish actions.
I would go for Flynn Downs.
I wouldnt even have Stephens as Club Captain. This is a role that still requires leadership, shared goals, mentoring and acting as a conduit between players and management. I am not sure the players respect him in that role, after his love in relationship with Russell Martin ?

If you read the article I don't say I want Jack binned off, I actually stick up for him and point out that throughout his time here he has been a good squad player and still can be.
Stats can be looked at in several ways, if we say Jack averaged over 2 points a game in the 23 appearances he made in our promotion season in the regular league season, that looks good.
In the 23 games he played no part at all in we got 38 points an average of 1.65.
But if we take out the games where he played less than 25 mins in and played no part in affecting the result, then the average drops drastically, take out games like QPR at home when he went off early in a 2-1 win when it was 0-0 away, 3 mins as sub in a 1-0 win at QPR, 8 mins in a 2-1 win over Plymouth, 7 mins in a 4-0 win over Sheff Weds then the average points per game drops to around 1.55 per game
So that turns the stats completely around |  |
