A sad story 18:37 - Jul 21 with 1906 views | stowmarketrange | My father-in-law was taken into hospital by ambulance this afternoon with a chest infection, and while we were sitting waiting for our turn to be delivered to the A&E department from the ambulance I got chatting to the paramedics. They said that one of their jobs today involved a cardiac arrest on a 42 year old man,who sadly didn’t make it,despite them working on him for 40 minutes. But even worse was his 16 year old daughter witnessed the whole episode. Obviously I don’t know the poor man’s circumstances, but 42 is really no age at all. I guess the saying about making the most of every day has never felt more poignant after hearing about this today. Take care everyone and best wishes to you all.

Collapsed in the doctors waiting room, died in the hospital later, massive heart attack. 40 years later it still affects her.

I guess most of us are guilty of taking life for granted. Many thanks indeed to our paramedics, Dr's and nurses. Hopefully one Government soon will give them an NHS really worth working for.

Paramedics are amazing - a lot of them that work from Charing X hospital here in Hammersmith are young ladies. The NHS seems to be full of great people but badly managed.

A sad story on 14:30 - Jul 26 with 422 views | derbyhoop | Bob Cartwright, who some will know from away games in Midlands and Yorkshire passed away this morning. He'd been poorly for last few months but it happened far too quickly. He leaves behind his wife Maggie, son Paul and a young grand child.

They certainly are. My eldest had a massive anaphylactic shock one Sunday in mid May and one paramedic turned up in a car and 2 more turned up 30 secs later in an ambulance. 9 mins from the time I dialled 999. The three girls were super cool under pressure as they were struggling to stabilise my daughter. Even in the ambulance my Mrs said the one driving was like a F1 driver and f’in and blinding at every car that was ignoring the blues and twos on the way in to Northwick Park. NHS gets such bad press but real emergency front line services in every experience we have had have been fantastic.
