Hi,

Sorry to waste your time on this, but i am truly vexed....

I had an i pad pro (the original one when it came out) and up until last week, it was fine. Then i dropped it, and broke the glass. and subsequently i purchased a new I pad......and this is where things truly went wrong for me....

The new i pad, as per instructions, was put next to the old one, and in theory it should have transferred info etc from the old one to the new one.......bingo! i thought.

Not so, say the gods of fortune..... and my old one just literally went pop!

So i'm left with the new one, i cannot remember my access to the cloud, or even using it, except for buying movies and quite a large I-Tunes collection, that was on my i-pad.

So, apparently after chatting with apple, they were trying to get the old account propagated to a new one and everything would be fine..... yeah right.
I was asked a lot about codes, etc and told my i pad would start to propagate all recoverable data for the new one.

Alas no, despite a trip to Trafford Centre I-store, and the promise that if there was an i-tunes section it would hopefully come back to me, but so far hasnt.

So what do i do? any help 100% gratefully received.
Fingers crossed the guru's out there might just be able to help?
Thanks in advance.
Dave

This is the stuff of technological nightmares.

So the apple nerds have set it up to re-sync with all of the stuff you had stored in the cloud, is that right?

If that's the case I think it can take a while for it to download from the cloud back to the iPad, and is partly dependent on your internet speed. You may start to see signs of that happening. Or not.

We did this recently with Mrs Wokings new ipad, but it took less than an hour.

A friend of mine once left the house with the television remote control in her bag, absentmindedly picking it up instead of her mobile phone

Reminds me of the joke from years back:

"How did you burn your ear?"

"I was ironing when the phone rang..."

Sorry, can't help with the OP's query - I'm a tech idiot - but I hope this raises a smile for him

V busy hence slow reply.

Does the touch screen still work at all on the old device? You'll need bluetooth switched on and to ensure its connect to your wireless network.

Then it should allow an automated setup with out credentials being entered.
