Really sad news, hit me quite hard as it will a lot who grew up with his (and Sabbath's!) music in the 70's and 80's
What a character he was who survived this long against all the odds. But what a guy!

He was obviously a character and a bit of a **** at times, but he came across well in the tv series of about 20 years ago, no one would have bet on him reaching 78 back in the 70's & 80's

A nice guy, and will be missed by many, but what a dysfunctional family.

Then again, maybe he will. The funeral cortege is going to honour one of "Birmingham's greatest living legends" this afternoon!

Reminds me of the time that Jacques Brel was declare France's most influential living artist. He wasn't just dead - he was Belgian!
