Apple Car Play Advice/Help. on 20:45 - Jul 28 with 661 views | QPR_Hibs | I've no idea on the technical side of things, but I use an Internet radio to listen to ad free stations from here: https://play.you.radio/brand/7 The downside is that they play only 1 artist on each different radio station (e.g. Exclusively The Doors or Exclusively Foo Fighters) and I think they are based in Dubai or something so I doubt the artists are getting (m)any royalties.

The artists that create the music, or the participants that make the radio programmes (and the companies) need to make money to continue to do it. Every song played on the radio is subject to a fee for the broadcaster. The culture of everyone wanting everything for free is killing culture. Subscription or advertising are the only methods to generate income outside of live performance and merch. Sorry to sound like I'm lecturing but as someone who makes music and has worked in these industries they need supporting
Apple Car Play Advice/Help. on 07:56 - Jul 29 with 404 views | Rsole | Hi Ted Unfortunately when something is ‘free,’ it usually means that you are the product, hence the ads which cover the costs of running the service. Given that they can be far more profitable than charging you a fee, it’s hard to turn them off or block them. Spotify typically have less ads than most and you can skip them - in podcasts at least. Trickier to do in the car though.

There are so many on the card I just let it play and by the time it’s finished and I go back to the start, I’ve forgotten what the first songs are! No ads, no DJ waffle.

Similar to what I do. iPod Touch 7th Gen, 7000 songs in m4a format ripped from my CD collection. Connect to bluetooth in the car and hear what I want to hear i.e uninterrupted music. One of my iTunes playlists (one of many) has probably nearly 4000 songs that were all UK top 40 hits with a rule of anything not played in the last 180 days so I hear each song twice a year and I use this playlist every day with another playlist that is just album tracks again not played in the last 180 days and combine songs from the two so I'm always hearing something fresh and not recently played.

I have no knowledge of how artists are paid or when and If they get their money. I do use DAB radio. Late last night I subscribed to Youtube music. My I-Tunes Libraries are still Intact. Sometimes, just sometimes I like to use the radio app (My Tuner app) I was a bit taken aback by the amount of adverts that they now put out. Never In my wildest dreams would I 'rip off' music and I know your not saying that
