No looking good so far on the half hour mark, Brighton 1-0 up and should have been two, our defence does not look solid

Energy picked up just before they got their second very harsh penalty though

Hit the post through Shea Charles header the game changed a bit

Wellington and Robinson clearly should be playing. Much more energy and drive from them both. Downes up front could have been Mara, completely unnoticeable.

Forwards had no service in the first half since the changes we have created chances

Adam Blackmore thinks it is the best spell of pre season so far in the last 20 mins of this game

That's true but I would argue Robinson created his own goal by actually running and having a shot.

2-2... decent result in the end against a decent Prem outfit as we all know. As peeps said, the subs had a great impact on the game and last 20-30 was a lot better from us. Robbo has to start! Bring it on Wrexham!

Brighton bossed the first half but Excellent fight back well played Saints.

Wellington, Robinson ,Bazunu ,Shea Charles even Ryan Fraser who grew into the game played well .

Very encouraging.

Whilst we shouldnt get too carried away, we should take the plus points, Brighton are a better side than we will play in the League this season, we dug in and kept going when we were under the cosh and gave ourselves the chance to get back in it.

There are players to come back in like Flynn Downes and that will make a difference, we just have to sort out the back four

Yes I agree. Wellington and Robinson will cause problems for other teams this season going forward Bazunu also made some good saves to keep us in it . First half it was too easy for Brighton who carved through us .

Our second half performance was excellent after the subs, especially Jay Robinson, came on, and we looked fitter and sharper than Brighton at the end.

Bazunu, Charles, Welington and Robinson all played really well. Quarshie concerns me though. He was a real defensive weak link, easily beaten whenever Brighton forwards took him on. I can see why he never played regularly for Fortuna and I don't think he's ready to start in the Championship yet. Maybe he's one for the future.

We're really going to need Jay Robinson to stay fit this season as he's our only real attacking threat and when he's on the pitch he lifts the whole team.

Will Still seems to be turning the team around. I feel more confident about this season after watching that.

We can thank Will Still's fitness training for that. Last season, we always fell apart and surrendered games in the last 20 minutes, although Smallbone coming on as a sub didn't help as he was worth 1 or 2 goals to the opposition. Fortunately, he was injured so he couldn't do that today. Instead we got subs that actually helped us.

Or the back 5?
Didn't see it at all but how was Baz? Justifiable stick or would he benefit more with a decent back 4?

Bazunu was good again, as he has been all pre-season. He is brave and dives at opposition players' feet, which is something McCarthy wouldn't do.

He made some excellent diving saves and he was very good at starting quick counterattacks. You really couldn't fault him.

He has grown in stature and confidence.

Bazunu has improved . He made some good saves. The two goals conceded were quality strikes from a top premier league player .
