Think of the damage inflicted that day then consider the fact modern weapons are over 3000x more powerful.
And still people criticise Israel for stopping those mentalists in Iran making one.
An inhuman , vicious country of sadists justifiably brought to its knees Meanwhile , spare a thought for the thousands of prisoners beaten or starved to death

People forget that in a war it's normally civilians who suffer the worst .The Japanese and two chances of the bombs not being dropped, they chose to ignore them. Not sure since that event countries have held back from starting a major war because imo it hasn't , it's just stopped it going to the final level

Without the A bombs thousands of Anzacs would have been butchered alive as well as our lads They got what they deserved Their armies were fanatical Japanese culture myRse
Japan had spent 20+ years torturing and murdering their way through SE Asia. Their treatment of Allied POW's and civilians was just as bad.
We'd have been entirely justified in dropping a dozen nukes on them.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

It was dropped to persuade Japan to surrender to the US and not to Russia. It was also a show of force to Stalin who held most of the cards because of the red armies strong position in Europe and Manchuria
Two Jap armies had been annihilated in Burma by the British 14th army and were in big trouble in the pacific and by the Red army in Manchuria

In WW2 is is estimated that twice as many civilians died than armed forces personnel. Sadly that's the way of things.
