Merthyr win their first match back in the national league set up, Southport apparently had most of the play but Merthyr scored two late goals to win the day, having to play all these Northern teams (Scarborough, Chester etc) being put in the Northern section will be detrimental to their chances this season.
I notice the team that jointly holds the record amount of titles with Merthyr for Southern League titles beat Wrexham yesterday.

Teams like Oxford and Hereford are also in the North division. The South division is made up of Southern, London and Eastern teams.
You're correct of course but both Newport and Merthyr have played in it in the last 20 years - I saw a few ex-Swans turn out for them at my local non-league side - Jamie Rewbury, Gareth Phillips etc..
Merthyr top the league (after 2 games) in the Northern Prem (not sure what its called these days) and Totten who got promoted with them last season are top of the Southern League (not sure what it's called these days).

Merthyr belong in the Conference (whatever its called), such is their historical standing. I seen in the video the guy showing the youtuber around, saying they are the Man City of the league down at their previous level, which was true, all their titles and their support against some park teams but not the case now in the league they are currently in.

No club belongs anywhere its where you aspire to be. Historically we are not a championship club, we spent most of our history in league three and four. Look at the non league tables and see how many clubs are historically higher league clubs. History means nothing ambition is everything.

Without checking I would say the Swans have now become a championship club historically, have the Swans spent more seasons in the second tier than they have in any of the other 4 tiers ? You don't fancy doing a list do you of how many seasons in the top tier, second tier, third tier and fourth tier do you ?, I would do it myself but I have nip out.
Merthyr won the Southern League 7 times most of them when it was the next tier down to the football league so that is why I think historically they should be in the Conference, the modern Conference they have played in but I'm looking at Merthyrs standing in my view over the decades.

On checking Swansea have spent the majority of their history in the second tier, Swans are only a few seasons short if they stay in the second tier of having more seasons in the second tier than they have in the top tier, third tier and fourth tier all combined.

Seen a picture this morning on Social media of their away fans at the game yesterday, fair doos good turnout , we seem too forget these fans who travel miles too watch non league clubs, respect.
