I've long stopped playing the modern day Football Manager games, they are just so over the top and over-complicated now. I wonder where the Collyer brothers are these days too, as inventors of the original Championship Manager/Football Manager we know today...

The "mobile" versions are a decent blend of detail/features without going too over the top. Although they have got last in the last few years and just updated the database without changing anything. Series hit it's peak with CM01-02 in my opinion. There's still a community that updates that game and releases a new version every 6 months or so with an updated database. So you can play with latest players/divisions etc
