I see Shea Charles managed a deflected shot to score for NI last night. Good to see

It was a good goal and he played very well.

Good player at this level. He’s not premier league standard (yet) but he’ll do a job for us in this division

He's been one of our best players so far this season and he was outstanding for Northern Ireland last night. His next game is against Germany. That will be challenging. Then he has to fly back for the local derby.

Agree with you. I think being involved with N.Ireland has/is changing him to be our captain sooner rather than later

True, but they lost 2-0 to Slovakia last night so it seems there are more level playing fields about now, even Luxembourg are not quite the guaranteed thrashing boys they used to be

Based on his first half performance against Germany tonight, you'd have to say the England team could do with a midfielder like Shea Charles.

He's a good passer and an excellent set-piece taker, but the potential superstar in that Northern Ireland team is West Brom's Isaac Price. He's the best young player in the Championship. If only we'd signed him in the transfer window...

When has he been excellent? Him and Downes have been virtually anonymous this season.

We have.
Adam Wharton : won the FA Cup last season & playing in the Europa Conference League this season.
Elliot Anderson : a superb season for Forest last year and made his England debut last Saturday. He is playing in The Europa League this season.

Let’s be realistic.
If Shea Charles was anywhere near either of those two he’d be playing in The Premier League.

We thought that we had the answers, It was the questions we had wrong.

If he was playing that well against Germany why would he have been substituted.
Just an observation , I actually think he's a half decent player & has been one of our best performers so far this season.

Simple: he ran out of steam in the second half. Let's hope he recovers for the Pompey game, but I don't think he'll last 90 minutes. These 2-match international breaks take their toll.
