How our keeper stayed on the pitch I have no idea. We didn't leave the Gretna social club till closing time. Good day out that was. We got Wrexham in the next round so we ended up playing 2 teams from 2 different countries in consecutive rounds, don't think that's ever been done before or since

I still have the ticket and the programme for that match a pale green colour ...
If i remember the mian stand where on the back of two lorries and the pitch was so uneven it made the Rhins look flat..

And like many have said just how did Dales keeer Gareth Gray not get carded,he was nervous right from the ko with sweat running down his forehead...

Is that pitch still there with that huge brick wall..

It wasn't done by us either. We got Huddersfield at home in the next round, lost 2-1.

Darren has put 1992 on the video title, but it was 7th December 1991.

Think the ref was Ken Redfern, a very good friend of Rochdale whenever he reffereed us.

Dont know how true it was but Ken was supposed to be in a relationship with a woman from Rochdale .

A large VAT Dave

As you said, Ken was the referee that day, so it was nailed on he wasn't going to send our keeper off. Not sure about that story about Mr Redfern, but there was definitely another link he had with our club - if you know, you know 😉
