Police saying - no suspicious circumstances.
An unbelievable brawler in his time, brave beyond reason, but he wasnt able to adjust to retirement.

No thats horrible news but after watching his documentary on Netflix anything was possible sadly.

He was a bit of a hero of mine.
I once drove all the way up to Hyde to watch him train for his upcoming fight with Jose Luis Castillo, it was incredible, and he took the time to sit and chat with me and have a photo taken. Such a nice fella, and just normal, his brother Matthew, too.
A couple of years later he rang me up to wish me happy birthday… loved him.
It’s so so sad.

I used to be a manager at a bar in Didsbury he frequented back at the height of his career and the ballooning periods. Absolutely top bloke and fighter but the way he went after the booze wasn't the normal appetite even back then.
