Goalkeeping 10:19 - Sep 15 with 2527 views | samueloneils | Is it wise to have no second keeper in the matchday squad? Worked out so far during most of last season and every league match so far. What would happen if Whatmuff was injured during a match?

With six other outfield players plus a recognised keeper on the bench, you'd expect he'd be confident he can cover any of the outfield positions if required No need for desperation, with so much at stake [Post edited 15 Sep 12:26]

Goalkeeping on 12:49 - Sep 15 with 2232 views | EllDale | I’ve heard this conversation several times in the Ratcliffe before games recently. It’s not just injuries to goalkeepers that you have to legislate for but also sendings off. The possibility is always there as with Sam Waller last season. Presumably BJ likes as many outfield options on the bench as possible or is it also a means of keeping members of a large squad happy? I mentioned on another thread as well recently that there is always the possibility of Whatmuff being called up by one of the England Youth teams during an international break.

I found it equally strange that United had 2 sub keepers on the bench for the game with City yesterday, seems a complete waste of at least 1 place on the bench when they'll knowingly need to change things around at some point
