IMO, anyone who cared about the long-term future of the club would be wiping the stupid debts and looking for one, or a small group of British people, preferably local to take over the reins. There is no shortage of wealthy British people, but unfortunately most of them are not stupid.
Whereas it could be said, that anyone looking to get back as much money as possible, at whatever cost, would be fishing for a, thick as pig shit, super-rich Jonnie Foreigner who may be stupid enough to think it’s a sound profit making investment. What’s going to happen when the dyslexic Sheikh Rattle and Roll finds out that as a business proposition, it was only worth a bag of washers and a half used pack of condoms and it’s Colchester, not Manchester United that they have bought? It might be a difficult sell, but someone’s giving it a good go, albeit in a style somewhere between ebay chancer and dodgy estate agent who’s not told his wife that they’re behind with the mortgage and there’s no money for the kids school fees.
