One change for the U's for the starting XI this afternoon, with Macey returning from his concussion-protocol absence, and good to see him back (not that Tom Smith has done much wrong standing in - thanks Tom!). Mbick will be looking to cement his stake as our starting no. 9 going forward, but I expect Tovide will make an appearance at some point today.
Think I read Fleetwood have drawn their last two home games 1-1. Whilst it might not necessarily be a bad result today, I'm getting fed up with 1-1 draws, time we started turning them into 3 points. |  |

No, of course it won't, what with their extended contracts, which was always odd, as they hadn't done enough to deserve it. One win in 10 is sackable by most standards, but we're stuck with them, so it seems. They came out for the second half with no apparent belief in their ability to win. I know what you mean, but it's also the case that, since day one of their appointments, the Cowleys have been 100% aligned with the owner. I can't recall one occasion where they have even slightly questioned the strategy of the owner. Maybe there was the faintest hint of unhappiness about the Lyle Taylor situation, but other than that, the Cowleys have been only too happy to support the owners financial strategy. So they are also part of the problem. I sincerely hope that in a few weeks we will be on a run, and I will be served a large helping of humble pie, but it's looking unlikely. | | | |

You wouldn't have to make more money available for players if you extended their contracts long enough so they can't turn it down? All you are spending is the next owners money?

I've just watched Danny Cowley's post-match interview and he's clearly as fed up as any supporter.
Danny has always been supportive of the owner in public because what is the alternative? Criticising Cowling to the press would achieve nothing positive. It was obvious he was bitterly disappointed when the club couldn't or wouldn't make Lyle Taylor an attractive enough offer to keep him at the club. I'm sure the brothers were hoping the sale of the club would happen but again they've just had to put a brave face on things.
Things were looking bleak on the pitch for quite some time last season before a turnaround which nearly led to a play-off place. I still believe Colchester United have the best management team in League Two though any pre-season optimism has disappeared completely. | | | |

I’m certainly not a paid up member of the cult of Cowley, but anyone wanting them gone, who do you want to replace them? Steve Ball or Wayne Brown, because that will be the likely choice at the moment.
In fairness to the head honcho, he’s been honest in that he wants out. There’s allegedly been interest. We just need him to come to terms with the fact that the club is worth chuff all. Desperate, and amateurish, attempts to find someone with more money than sense might work, but ultimately something has to give. Until then we are in limbo, another season is written off, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. I just hope that anyone that buys the club doesn’t see it as an investment.

The best management team in league Two. Really? It's true that we had a couple of excellent runs last season, including five consecutive wins in the first half of March. But after that it was just two wins from nine and ultimately we didn't look like contenders for a play off spot. This season we have one win from ten, and two extremely tricky games coming up. I hope it doesn't happen, but it could quite easily become one win from twelve games. At what point do you think most fans will say this just isn't working? One win from 14, one from 16? To me, the current situation seems at least as bleak as the early part of last season. And it's not just the lack of wins, but the style of play, which has become conservative and boring. | | | |
