Ealing Half Marathon 17:14 - Sep 28 with 1021 viewsGilligan

The Ealing Half goes near my house so I watched all the runners go past. At least a dozen people in QPR shirts or QPR running vests went past me. Only saw one Brentford shirt which is quite surprising as there are lots of people who go to their games around here.

I also noticed you get a lot more response from the runners when you shout “You R’s” at mile 1 than you do at mile 11 ;-)

There was a good number of us running today and a lot of shout-outs from the crowd. You can always count on one hand the number of Brentford shirts running, which is odd given the location. But as we know, most of their fanbase aren’t really Brentford fans , but locals who watch premiership football on the cheap and Bees are their second team!

Have run that twice and it's really well organised. The second half though, going back up Drayton Bridge Road with the incline, is horrible.

It's always noisiest at the shallow end

I live in Brentford and not a day goes by where you don't see at least 3 people wearing Brentford shirts / merch. Maybe Ealing is too far for them.

Well done anyone who ran today!

There is an incredible number of QPR fans where i now live in Bracknell and probably had at least 20 separate people or groups comment about QPR to me, when have been out and about locally in a Rangers top.

And now we also have four or five youth players currently on loan to Bracknell FC..

I was there with a Rangers flag and a loud missus where the course turns in to Argyle road, just the other side of the bridge E17's describing. Three mates of mine ran it and was great to hear a lot of "U Rrs" around the course. I reckon if I start training now I'll be good for under 3 hours next year.

That's great going. One of my mates calves seized up about mile 8 so they stayed together and clocked 2.58. I think this year's men's winner ran it in 1.06 or something similarly ricockulous.
